Arcadia All Florida Championship Rodeo

Today (March 12) was fun.  I went a few miles up the road to Arcadia for the professional rodeo that is running this weekend.  Yes, it was my first time at the rodeo although, I had shot a lot of equestrian stuff with the Punta Gorda Horsemans Association here in town.  I skipped the shootout show and found a good spot at the end of the arena with the sun at my back.  I was shooting the D300 with my 70-300mm VR lens.  It was a great day.  I took hundreds of pictures and it will take a while to sort through by event but, here are a few teasers.  Just click on the picture for a larger image.

The events were certainly exciting but, I found the work of the arena crew just as interesting.  They had to round up and corral all of the excited bulls and horses after each run.  That was sometimes more interesting than an 8 second bull ride, or less.
